Campground Master -- Point of Sale Hardware Here is some information to help you decide what hardware peripherals you can use with Campground Master. Some peripherals require the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) optional functions, while support for some peripherals is included in the basic Campground Master license.Equipment supported by Campground Master: You will find a list of suggested equipment models below, with our pricing. Just call us to order by phone. Which items you need for your system depend on your situation. Technically, the P.O.S. can be operated without any external hardware other than a standard PC printer for receipts. Added peripherals generally add speed and convenience, as well as a more professional look to your business. Below are some tips to help you decide what you need.
Choosing Hardware Interfaces The most perplexing part of choosing hardware is the variety of interfaces available for each device. Below are the recommended interfaces as well as any other options supported by the software. The main thing is that you need to add up all of the interface ports required and make sure your computer has those connections available. Keep in mind that "keyboard-wedge" interfaces don't use up a port, since they connect in-line with your keyboard. Parallel and serial devices occupy a port (although some parallel devices are "pass-through", allowing a printer to be attached also). Multiple USB devices can be added to a single port if an external "hub" device is used.
** (should be "fully decoded" output) *** (must support at least Track 1, Track 1&2 support recommended, Track 3 not supported) If you plan to do credit card authorizations through the computer, then you may also need to connect an external modem (or it can be done through a broadband internet connection). This will most likely occupy an additional serial port (we recommend an external serial modem for simplicity in support, but an internal modem will also work if necessary). If you also need to support debit cards with PIN # entry, you will need a serial port for a PIN pad. Note that only one of your Campground Master workstations will need a modem if you're using Campground Master in a networked setup. Suggested Equipment Campground Master has been designed for maximum flexibility and support of the most popular equipment interfaces. As long as the device meets the interface requirements above, it will probably work with Campground Master. If you already have equipment from a previous system then it may work perfectly. But if you're starting fresh, we've listed some recommended items below. These are generally the "basic" models, so there may be additional options available (for instance different colors, added stands, etc.). The sales person can help you with options and other questions. Our prices are shown below for the models listed (not including shipping charges and Arizona sales tax if applicable). Any warranty returns or repairs must be handled directly with the manufacturer. All prices below include interface cables as needed. Receipt printers include 10 rolls of single-ply paper and 2 ribbons (or 10 rolls of thermal paper). Note that all devices are available in either white or black color (even if the photo only shows one color), so please specify the desired color when ordering.
